Meeting DANET Board on 1st/2nd December 2015 in the “Institute for the Study of Cultural Development” in Belgrade

Members of the DANET – board (Carmen Stadelhofer, Germany; Dusana Findeisen, Slovenia; Ana Zlibut, Romania; Tihomir Ziljak, Croatia; Emilza Velikova, Bulgaria) met in the “Institute for the Study of Cultural Development” in Belgrade to develop strategies for Danet’s work in 2016, specially in the frame of the transnational project “Tastes of Danube” (ToD). They had been party accompanied by Marina Lukic Cvetic (director) and Dejan Zagorac (resercher), Insitute for the Study of Cultural Development and Simeon Babic and Lidija Jevremovic, National Foundation for Human Aging Dr. Laza Lazarevic

The third Newsletter (December 2015) of the “Danube-Networkers for Europe (DANET) e.V.” is available with different topics: new European project „Tastes of Danube. Bread, Wine, Herbs”, Danube – Networkers Days in Bulgaria and Romania, MobilA, etc.

Call for participation in the new international project “Tastes of Danube”

ILEU e.V.  starts in cooperation with DANET e.V. and the educational Network  Danube-Networkers  a new project along the Danube .  The project “Tastes of Danube. Bread. Wine.Herbs” is linked with the areas culture and traditions, learning in later life, health, social entrepreneurship, soft tourism. A lot of regional and transnational activities will start in January 2016.  Work in subgroups, 2-3 organizations in a partnership, is planned, with visits to neighbors.

Meeting DANET Board in Zagreb, July 17 – 19, 2015

On July 17 – July 19, 2015 Board meeting Danube – Networkers for Europe (DANET) e.V. was held in Zagreb, at the Public Open University Zagreb (POUZ). In those three days, members from Germany, Bulgaria, Romania, Slovenia and Croatia intensively discussed current work and future activities of the DANET organization. Most discussed question was how to make the relationship between all those involved in projects as part of a wider Danube network and those who are members of the organization DANET, i.e. what is the special role of the DANET organization in expanding various forms of cooperation and collaboration networks in the Danube region. Special attention was paid to all future activities, especially the 2nd Participation Day for civil society actors (Ulm, October 2015) and the new planned new project “Tastes of Danube”.

European Citizen’s Prize and „Lily of Europe” 2015

Double Award for International Project „The Wanted Danube“

BRUSSELS/BERLIN/ULM (DANET) – The European Parliament has awarded the Ulm-based international project “The Wanted Danube”, represented by its coordinator Carmen Stadelhofer, with the “European Citizen’s Prize 2015”, as confirmed now by European Parliament Vice President Sylvie Guillaume in Brussels. EU Parliament members Evelyne Gebhardt (Germany, SPD) and Michael Theurer (Germany, FDP) had nominated the friendship project with its 6.000 participants from eight European countries along the river Danube, which was wrapped up in July 2014, for the competition.

The DANET Day in Bulgaria – Ruse, Borisovo, Ryahovo, and Silistra

The European Association “Danube-Networkers for Europe(DANET) e.V., the University of Ruse and the Union of Pensioners‘2004-Ruse organized a Danube-Networkers Day on 15 May 2015, Friday. A number of events took place both in Ruse and in the villages of Borisovo and Ryahovo, The DANET delegation included Chairperson of DANET, Mrs. Carmen Stadelhofer,  and three representatives of organizations, very involved by voluntary work in the project “The wanted Danube”, Bertram Wegemer, ILEU e.V.,  Stefani Meyer, a teacher in a high school in Illertissen  (near Ulm)and Inga Engels from the “Donaubüro/Danube Office” of the towns Ulm/Neu-Ulm.

“The wanted Danube” connects people

Danube-Networkers Day in Jamena, and Backa Palanka in Serbia, and Vukovar in Croatia

Jamena is a small Serbian village near to the river Sava and the Bosnian and Croatian border. The proposal to organise a Danube-Networkers-Day in Jamena together with the primary School OŠ “Filip Višnjić” was created in the frame of a visit of the Danube-Networkers-Delegation from Ulm in October 2014 in Jamena. The whole village was hit by flood in March 2014. The guests from Ulm brought a donation of 3.000 Euro to the primary school to help them to refurnish some school classes and to buy new school materials. This support was possible through donations collected on the base of the woolen  “Danube-pieces” made in the frame of the project “The wanted Danube

Empowering civil society in the Danube region: 50 participants and great ideas at DANET’s first qualification seminar

Ulm/Bad Urach (DANET) – The Ulm-based non-profit association „Danube-Networkers for Europe“ (DANET) e.V. has organized its first qualification seminar for 50 civil organization chief executives from all countries situated at the Danube river. The participants stayed in the “Haus auf der Alb” conference house in Bad Urach from December 8 to December 12. Goal of the seminar was to enhance the cooperation of civil society organizations all over the European Danube Area by dealing with project supporting measures.

1st DANET Qualification Training aimed at strengthening the civil society and collaboration in the Danube region by capacity building

We are pleased to announce a first Qualification Training aimed at strengthening the civil society and collaboration in the Danube region by capacity building. This training, will take place 8th-12th December 2014 in Bad Urach and is financially supported by the Baden-Württemberg Stiftung and other sponsors.
