As a tool for change, the European Association for the Education of Adults (EAEA) has published ‘Manifesto for Adult Learning in the 21st Century’. It sets objectives for creating a Learning Europe: a Europe that is able to tackle the future positively and with all necessary skills, knowledge and competences.

The Manifesto is targeted at European, national and regional policy makers to learn about the benefits of adult learning. It can also be useful for European education providers in advocacy work.

The PDF version of the publication are  in English, in German, in Portuguese, in Romanian or in Slovenian: http://www.eaea.org/en/policy-advocacy/manifesto-for-adult-learning-in-the-21st-century.html

The University of the Third Age (U3A) movement is a unique and exciting organisation which provides, through its U3As, life-enhancing and life-changing opportunities. Retired and semi-retired people come together and learn together, not for qualifications but for its own reward: the sheer joy of discovery!
Members share their skills and life experiences: the learners teach and the teachers learn, and there is no distinction between them.

The U3A movement is supported by its national organisation, the Third Age Trust.
