4.2 Danubian Bread and Flowers

Nowadays it is very important to bring people together, and we can make a step with our writings and poems, building bridges of culture between people in the Danube region.

Every talent is like a flower, it rises from the ground, little and usually not seen by many. Then, it grows upper and upper to be seen and eventually emboldened and admired. It receives what is needed to survive and, in the meantime, it grows up to be a wonderful flower with beautiful petals.

In the frame of the European Project “Tastes of Danube- Bread, Wine, Herbs”, The Writers’ League- Timisoara Banat Branch , through its member, Ana Cristina Popescu, realized a national anthology with artistic creations made by pupils of different classes, consecrated writers, teachers and journalists from several cities of Romania: Timisoara, Baia Mare, Caransebes and Bucharest.

The talented Romanian writers’ literary creations in the national anthology had the chance to be presented at the cultural meeting in December in Timisoara. The writers, composers and artists red their creations while applauded and recorded. The photos and videos from this meeting can be seen at  http://blogul.elzumina.ro/?page_id=387 .

The literary-artistic anthology “The taste of bread” is 106 pages long. The poetry, prose, essays, drama within it, all centered around bread, opened its petals in this collection of literary creation.

At the moment, its “petals” are small but very beautiful and every each one is telling a different story or poem about bread. But the petals will grow up, and will be seen by many other people in an International anthology, where talents from the whole Danube region will have their own petal, one more beautiful than the other. We call every talent from every country to show us their literary creations about bread, for them to participate with a petal in the International anthology garden. For those interested, you can find more information at the link http://tastes-of-danube.eu/international-anthology-of-bread-first-call-2/ .
