Abstract: The Second Meeting of the ODDA Project of the Institute for Virtual and Face-to-face Learning in Adult Education at Ulm University (ILEU e.V.), Ulm, Germany, was held in the University of Ruse, Bulgaria, 11-14 October, 2017. 28 representatives of the partner organizations, Prof. Velizara Pencheva, PhD, Rector of the University of Ruse, Vice Rectors, university teachers and students, school students, the Mayor of Slivo Pole Region Mr. Valentin Atanasov, pensioners from the Union of Pensioners and chitalista of many villages and towns took part in the project activities.
The Second Meeting of the ODDA Project of ILEU e.V., Ulm, Germany, was held in the University of Ruse, Bulgaria, 11-14 October, 2017. 28 representatives of the partner organizations, Prof. Velizara Pencheva, PhD, Rector of the University of Ruse, Vice Rectors, Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Education, the university students from the pedagogical courses Pre-school and Primary School Education; Primary School Education with a Foreign Language, school students from the High School in Tourism and Friedrich Shiller German Language School, the Mayor of Slivo Pole Region Mr. Valentin Atanasov, the pensioners from the Union of Pensioners – Ruse Region and the chitalista of many different villages and towns, educators, and multiplicators took part in the project activities.
The main meeting objectives were: to present and evaluate the project results until now, to develop and apply knowledge and communicative skills in groups of multiplicators and participants (users) by art training methods, to apply the project products in the public event “Bread Connects”, to developed knowledge and communicative skills in real situations in Ruse and to evaluate the experiences, to develop new project products, to decide how to save results for the documentation and to share work tasks for the next few months.
The representatives of the partners Institute for Virtual and Face-to-face Learning in Adult Education at Ulm University, Ulm, Germany; Writers` League Timisoara Banat Branch, Timisoara, Romania; Supported Educational Centre of Backa Palanka, Serbia; Public Open University Zagreb (POUZ), University of the Third Age, Zagreb, Croatia; University of Ruse, Center for Education of Third Age at the University of Ruse, Bulgaria have presented there project results.
Group work was organized for discussing and evaluating the project results.
According to the main meeting objectives there were organized activities for the application of the project products in real situations such as:
- Together with students from the Friedrich Shiller German Language School, there were developed routes for acquainting with the sights of Ruse: City Centre, Opera Theater, the oldest church of the town, the river Danube, Revenue Building, City Library, Historical Museum, office, restaurant, etc. The students studied many historical facts about these sites and were mentors of the project groups.
- A leaflet with traditional dinner menu in Bulgarian, German, English and Romanian languages and pictures was developed with students from the High School in Tourism (HST). The dinner for the participants was organized with a restaurant offering all the menu dishes. The participants in the project had to apply their communicative skills and knowledge in the dinner time by asking / offering food and drinks by key words and with the help of the flyer.
- The students from HST and the project participants also developed 3 leaflets with 6 recipes of European breads for common holidays such as Christmas and Easter, written in German, English and Bulgarian. The leaflets included photos of the breads made by them.
Two workshops have been organized:
- Developing Communicative and Social Skills by Art Methods – partners, university students, pensioners;
- Workshop of ODDA groups:
- Evaluation of the project results.
- Working on a plan for the next month.
Developing the time table and distribution of work packages by discussion “How to save and distribute the results of ODDA?”.
A DANET meeting was held too for planning future activities.
