Danube Bread on Tour: Successful Start in Bulgaria
As member of the board of the Danube Civil Society Forum (DCSF) Carmen Stadelhofer was invited to the Bulgarian Citizen Participation National Meeting’ which took place on 17th and 18th of March in Sofia. She took profit of her presence to inform interested colleagues about the project “Tastes of Danube” and to invite them to take part in the action “Danube-Bread on Tour”. With help of her colleague from Ruse University, Prof. Emilya Velikova, she was able to explain how the “urteig” should be used and colleagues from Sofia, Ruse, Burgas, Varna, Târgoviște and Gorna Oryahovitsa took the pastry with them at home. Ruse will transfer the pastry to Silistra where it is highly expected and to Brasov in Romania within a partner meeting of the Soroptimist Clubs Ruse and Brasov. We are looking forward to receiving the photos from the different baked breads.

Ulm „”Urteig”“ Goes to the Bread Houses Network in Sofia
Carmen Stadelhofer, the coordination of the Project “Tastes of Danube” took profit of her stay in Sofia to visit the BREAD HOUSES NETWORK and to meet in reality those bread specialists with whom she has been
in contact by written since some months. Unfortunately, Nadezhda Savova-Grigorova, the founder of this Network was unable to stay, but her husband, Stefan Grigorova, Maria Grigorova and Zdrava Vodenicharova told very engaged about the idea of the Bread Houses Network, the ongoing and planned pedagogical work, the bakery which is in Sofia combined with the Network.
Carmen Stadelhofer and her colleagues, Prof. Emiliya Velikova from Ruse University and Prof. Dobrinka Stoykova from the Technical Library-University Sulsit in Sofia had not only been informed well, but they also enjoyed the smell of fresh bread they relished. And surely, Carmen invited the Bread Houses members to take actively part in the action “Danube-Bread on Tour” and gave them some pastry to back. In exchange Stefan gave some Bread House Network Urteig to Carmen to bring it to Ulm’s Danube-Networkers. Prof. Stoykova was so inspired by the meeting that she decided to come back with her students to bake the Danube-Bread in the rooms of the Bread Houses Network.
