Teams of students and seniors from Ulm, Odessa, and Sofia are developing a digital scavenger hunt (Actionbound) to create alternative city tours. The content will highlight locations in each city that are linked to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), promoting awareness of sustainability through interactive experiences.
Background: In 2015, the global community adopted the 2030 Agenda, establishing 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) aimed at fostering social, economic, and environmental sustainability worldwide. More information here.
Project Concept: Each scavenger hunt station will be documented with photos and texts and will feature interactive tasks, such as puzzles, questions, or educational insights, designed to engage both digital participants and physical visitors.
Final Outcome: By the end of the project, each city will have a fully developed digital city tour, guiding visitors—both locals and tourists—through significant locations related to the SDGs.
Participants: The project brings together intergenerational teams from Ulm, Sofia, and Odessa. Participating students include:
- 11th-grade German language students from the National Natural Sciences and Mathematics Gymnasium in Sofia, Bulgaria
- Students from a secondary school in Odessa, Ukraine
- Students from Schubart Gymnasium in Ulm, Germany
The project is supported by teachers, federal volunteers, and community volunteers from ILEU e.V. and the Local Agenda Ulm.
Since German is the project’s official language, it also serves as a motivational learning opportunity for students from Bulgaria and Ukraine, who are studying German as a foreign language.
