The association “The Writers` League” Timisoara Banat Branch- LSFTB was founded in May 2010 in Timisoara, Romania with the aim of supporting the artistic creation, expression and moral solidarity of its members. It is a professional, nongovernmental, apolitical organization, consisting of creators in the field of literature. The association has 36 members, most of them are teachers and professors, in function or retired. The target of the association is: encouragement, stimulation and promotion of literary creation by developing corresponding cultural, literary and artistic activities. LSFTB also encourages lifelong education projects by organizing cultural events focused on developing art skills, with a strong intergenerational focus. Between the events organized by LSFTB are also creative literary workshops, cultural salons and art exhibitions. The Writers League Timisoara Banat Branch participated in local, national and international projects. Book launches and literary debates took place in literary monthly meetings.
We started being involved in the Danube-Networkers network since 2011 and in March 2014, LSFTB became founding member of the international organization “Danube-Networkers for Europe” (DANET), e.V.
We are very happy to be part of DANET because by joining it, our members participated in many activities and projects on European level; and we could involve many participants of different ages in European events, so making the Romanian civil society more active.
Being part of this network, our association presented the Romanian traditions, customs and culture in the frame of international projects; and learned about other countries` culture. This is very important for both sides because only by knowing the others’ culture, you earn respect and have respect for someone from another country. “Culture is the most decisive statement of a nation” and by joining this network, we can promote the ideals of our organization on a large scale.
DANET is an active European organization and Europe needs active people who are willing to do something concrete for a safe and democratic way of living for all. Being part of DANET, is like being a drop of color in the European masterpiece.
