4.1 A MESSAGE FROM GERMANY

Developments in Germany

BAGSO (German National Association of Senior Citizens‘ Organisations) has organized the 11th German Senior Citizens’ Day 2015 in Frankfurt. The 12th Senior Citizens’ Day will take place in 2018.

You will find a short documentation in English- giving an overview about older peoples’ organizations and recent initiatives in Germany as well as  BAGSO`s engagement in European and International Contexts.

One of the topics of the next BAGSO Assembly and Conference in November 2016 is focusing on the federal government’s 7th  report on aging.

The report is going to be published in 2016 and will include concrete recommendations for action on sustainable policies for older people in local communities.
